Our cooks found this recipe in the Eagles Cove kitchen cook book:

Elephant Stew  (feeds 3,800 people)

1 elephant, 2 rabbits

Large quantity of seasoned brown gravy

1.       Cut elephant into bite sized pieces.  This should take about 2 months

2.      Cover with brown gravy and cook over fire for about 4 weeks at 450° F

3.      If more than 3,800 people present, add rabbits (do this only if necessary as most people do not like to find hare in their stew)

The cooks have served delicious food and have been greatly appreciated by the campers and the team.  Spaghetti is always a hit with the kids and tonight was no excpetion.

Tonight is silent supper night.  The boys team was far in the lead on this event.  They were silent movie characters. They managed not to speak quite well by using note pads  - they even wrote please and thank you to the cooks.

One of today’s highlights was when a boy came to his cabin leader and said he wanted to ask Jesus to come and live in his heart.  Another boy encouraged him “I did that two years ago and I know Jesus is always in my heart and with me.”

Thank you for continuing to pray for the campers and the PORTICO team.
