A full moon is shining over Eagles’ Cove tonight as everyone settles into their new surroundings. The team enjoyed an outing to Kakabeka Falls and the ice cream vendor. After the heat at home, there are many shivering in the cold. It is a bit chilly. Bera shared an inspiring devotion tonight about God’s calling to make disciples. We are looking forward to the children coming tomorrow. Do you remember the story of the little boy who asked Wes, “Who is Jesus?” He is coming tomorrow as a young junior leader. We are excited to see him. We have 43 children registered. That is amazing! Thanks to all that sponsored a kid for camp. Thank you, Paul, for bicycling across the mountains and prairies so that more children can hear about Jesus.

After having been there myself, I remember how frustrating it can be to handle all of the wild ways that the campers' starvation for love and attention is manifested. This week I pray for a divine sense of patience and the ability to look at these precious children through the lens of Jesus.
I think of Hebrews 13:3 "Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself. Remember also those being mistreated, as if you felt their pain in your own bodies"
Their prison or metaphorical feeling of an inescapable circumstance could be neglect, abuse, poverty, you name it. Having that mindset, how can we NOT get pumped up and throw ourselves at this week to see what our creator has in store. Strive to be used, ask to be stretched.
Encouraging from afar,
Andrew S.
